Several expatriate residents were invited to a fete held at the China Guanlan Original Printmaking Base in Longhua District on Jan. 19 to get in touch with Chinese culture and to welcome the Chinese New Year.

At the fete, the participants tasted traditional Chinese festive delicacies such as ice sugar gourds, sugar paintings, dumplings, sesame candies, and egg rolls at a festive market, appreciated festive performances including the Dachuankeng Kylin Dance, a national-level intangible cultural heritage in Longhua District and experienced festive customs such as writing couplets, papercutting, making pottery and wearing hanfu.
The district also displayed its feature cultural industries and enterprises such as woodblock painting, rosewood furniture, ceramics, fashion and antique piano at the fete.
The event was jointly held by Longhua District Foreign Affairs Office, Longhua District Longhua District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau and Guanlan Subdistrict Office.
