A total of 140 works by 82 artists from 38 countries are featured at an exhibition on the development and achievements of contemporary printmaking arts, which was launched March 20 at the China Printmaking Museum in Guanlan, Longhua District.

Curated under the theme “Interactive Eye — International Contemporary Printmaking Ecology,” the exhibition is divided into four sections, each featuring works solicited from international printmaking artists, institutions and exhibitions as well as digital printmaking works. With authentic works on exhibit, the exhibition showcases the status quo of international printmaking art, epitomizes the development of contemporary printmaking industry and reflects the international exchanges of culture and arts.

According to Zhao Jiachun, who is the curator and also vice director of the China Printmaking Museum, the exhibition enables visitors to appreciate printmaking works from around the world in an equal and interactive manner. “The ecology of contemporary printmaking art and industry, from my perspective, is constituted by the exchange and communications of printmaking works, artists and institutions and the exchange of different culture and civilizations,” he said. “Through the exhibition, we hope to bring more outstanding works from international printmaking artists and institutions to art aficionados in Shenzhen and China.”
