The Shenzhen Shenshui Longhua Water Affairs Co. Ltd. initiated its Xikeng water plant advanced treatment project in Guanlan, Longhua District on Tuesday morning, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

Upon the completion of the project, the water plant will be the second water plant in the district to employ advanced treatment process, following Hongmushan’s project.

As one of the three main water plants in Longhua, Xikeng water plant will be constructed in two phases and will have a capacity of 150,000 cubic meters per day.

Based on the current conventional water treatment process of phase I and phase II, the Xikeng water plant is set to adopt the ozone and biological activated carbon advanced treatment process.

It is expected that the smart water plant will produce potable water after the project is completed and put into operation. The project is planned to be completed in April 2022.

The project will greatly improve the stability and safety of water supply in Longhua District, especially in the Guanlan, Fucheng and Guanhu subdistricts while also bettering the taste of the drinking water.

Additionally, the project will apply the building information modeling management technology and integrate the concept of smart water plant in order to build a highly automated and efficient water plant.
