Longhua District Government on Sept. 23 officially launched a mechanism to boost the development of “Digital Longhua” at a promotional event about industrial internet platforms and the digital economy.

Containing a three-year government work plan and a package of some 20 preferential policies, the mechanism covers a total investment of three billion yuan and is eligible for enterprises from over 10 digital economy-relevant industries, which will promote the sustainable development of the district’s economy and accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system.

According to Longhua District mayor Wang Wei, the total industrial output of the district’s digital ecomony exceeded 185 billion yuan in the first half of this year, registering a year-on-year growth rate of 45 percent. The contribution of digital economy industries towards the overall industrial growth reached 50 percent, indicating that the digital economy has become a major driving force of the district’s growth. Longhua will keep forging ahead with its digitalization course to build itself into a world-level pilot demonstration area of a digital economy.

The district also released some plans and reports on the innovation of an industrial internet and the development of the digital economy and introduced some major digital economy industrial parks and success cases at the event.

The event was jointly hosted by Longhua District Government and China Electronics Standardization Institute and organized by the Longhua District Industry and Information Technology Bureau.

As of last year, Longhua District has rolled out a total 10 measures together with the “One Circle, One Zone, Three Corridors” development strategy to build itself into a digital economy pilot demonstration area. The district has so far established 12 key areas to promote digital economy and industries and boasts more than 25,000 online projects.
