Nine technology projects developed by Tsinghua alumni teams were presented at an innovation roadshow in Longhua District on Sept. 8, as the district seeks to accelerate the commercialization of new energy technologies and attract innovative businesses.

The event, the 77th edition of Longhua's "Longchuanghui" innovation exchange series, was organized by the Longhua District Science, Technology and Innovation Bureau. With the theme "Energy Innovation Ecosystem," it brought together more than 100 participants, including investors, industry experts and Tsinghua University alumni.

The nine projects covered emerging technologies such as high-temperature solid-particle thermal energy storage, industrial foundation models based on physical AI, and solid-state thermoelectric conversion.

Most of the projects have completed technical validation and advanced to demonstration or commercial applications, according to the organizers.

The roadshow provided opportunities for researchers, businesses and investors to explore technology applications, industrial partnerships and financing opportunities.

Longhua is one of Shenzhen's major manufacturing hubs, with a growing innovation ecosystem. In 2025, the district recorded a GDP of 331.1 billion yuan (US$46.5 billion) and industrial output exceeding 720 billion yuan from enterprises above the designated size.

The district was home to 4,140 national high-tech enterprises and 179 national-level specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprises. Research and development expenditure accounted for 4.38% of its GDP, while output from core digital economy industries exceeded 610 billion yuan.

To support the commercialization of emerging technologies, Longhua has been expanding opportunities for companies to test and deploy their products in real-world settings. The district also offers manufacturing resources, shared laboratories, pilot production facilities and customized industrial spaces for technology companies at different stages of development.

Local authorities said they would continue using the Longchuanghui platform to strengthen collaboration among universities, research institutions and businesses, attract promising new energy ventures and help bring more research achievements to market.
