A matchmaking event for Shenzhen- and Spain-based businesses was held at the Longhua International Cooperation Center in Longhua District yesterday.
Representatives from four Longhua-based firms and six members of the Barcelona economic and trade delegation briefly introduced their businesses during presentations.

The Spanish delegates included government officials from Badalona as well as representatives from the Shenzhen Association of Industry and Commerce in Spain, Spanish firms, and research and investment institutions.

Representatives from about 10 companies based in Longhua attended the event and were able to communicate in-depth with members of the Barcelona delegation.
Government officials from Badalona were impressed by drone performances conducted by Damoda, a Longhua-based drone light show company. With an intention to cooperate in the future, the officials exchanged contact information with the company’s staff.

Albert Tomás, president of Spain’s legendary jamón supplier Enrique Tomás, introduced the company’s new stores in Shenzhen during the conference.
Enrique Tomás just opened four stores in the Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport on Tuesday. Tomás expressed an intention to adapt the company’s offerings to cater more effectively to the culinary preferences of the local people and hoped to cooperate with more local restaurants in the future.

Josep Sanfeliu, president and co-founder of Barcelona-based venture capital firm Asabys Partners, expects to cooperate with Shenzhen companies and aims to incorporate products from Shenzhen into its investment strategies.
Gerard Duelo Ferrer, vice president of GD Brokers Inmobiliarios, saw the event as an opportunity to explore the city. Ferrer was interested in Shenzhen’s digital and electronics markets as well as urban environment designs.
Ferrer said that he sometimes felt like he was living in the year 2050 during his stay in Shenzhen. “I think Shenzhen is a nice city that is growing in a sustainable way,” he said.
After the presentation session, participants also visited the “Global Communication Ambassador · Shenzhen Story Club” showroom, located in the Longhua collaboration center, where high-tech and porcelain products were on display.
Initiated by EyeShenzhen and the Longhua District Government this April, the showroom is an immersive experience space that showcases Shenzhen stories tailored for global audiences.
The Barcelona delegation visited Shenzhen from Saturday to yesterday.
