Longhua District is advancing green development in the hotel sector during the 15th National Games. In response to the city’s “3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Zero-Waste Hotels” campaign, the Longhua District Urban Management and Law Enforcement Bureau implemented targeted measures and provided refined guidance to build a zero-waste operation model for hotels.

Eleven hotels in the district—including the Shenzhen Fashion Town Hotel - MGallery Collection and the Grand Skylight International Hotel Guanlan, both official reception hotels for the Games—are named among Shenzhen’s first batch of “3R Zero-Waste Hotels.” The district also carried out on-site inspections and professional coaching to ensure that green practices are applied at high standards during the Games.

Hotels across Longhua have integrated waste-reduction elements into lobbies, restaurants, guest rooms, and meeting spaces by promoting the “Clean Plate Campaign,” using biodegradable key cards and refillable amenities, reducing use of disposable items, and utilizing smart room systems that allows precise control of lighting and air conditioning.

In recent years, Longhua has emerged as a leader in zero-waste hotel initiatives, with the Mission Hills Resort topping Shenzhen’s first citywide evaluation last year. The Pullman Shenzhen North hotel was recognized as an outstanding demonstration hotel for fully embedding “3R” practices into its operations. These efforts collectively support greener services for the National Games and the district’s broader sustainability goals.
