The new Longhua Library welcomed its first visitors on Aug. 22 at Luhu Art Center in Guanhu Subdistrict.
Covering approximately 32,400 square meters, the library provides more than 1,800 seats and is designed to hold 1.1 million volumes, with dedicated spaces for children, teenagers, adults and readers with visual impairments.
Opening-day visitors explored its collections, multilevel reading areas and family-friendly facilities. The day also featured “Encounter Longhua,” a dialogue bringing together museum and cultural heritage studies with quyi, a collective term for traditional Chinese folk performing arts. Renowned cultural figures Jiang Kun and Shan Jixiang joined the dialogue.
