Guanlan Cultural Town is the only provincial cultural characteristic town in Shenzhen. It draws nutrients from various cultures, including terrestrial and marine cultures, Guang Fu (Kwong Chau Department) and Hakka cultures, and agricultural and commercial cultures. Within its confines, the area has preserved intangible cultural heritages such as kylin dance, dragon boat racing, and Hakka folk songs, forming a diverse picture of Hakka, printmaking, and rosewood culture. Several characteristic cultural blocks converge at the town, making it one of the important cultural calling cards of Shenzhen.

In the future, emphasis will be put on the town’s cultural inheritance and innovative development. Digital technology will be used in building an industrial system combining cultural tourism, creativity, and ICT (information communication technology), so as to create a new cultural landmark in Shenzhen and a demonstration town of international digital culture.
