The Guihutang Ancient Hakka Residence, located in Guihua Community, Guanlan Subdistrict, Longhua District, is the ancestral home of the local Chen family and one of the oldest and best-preserved Hakka walled villages in Shenzhen.
Dating back to the Qing Dynasty, the residence spans over 18,000 square meters and consists of 50 houses with 136 rooms, along with public facilities such as an ancestral hall, library, enclosed gate, and watchtower.
All the buildings were constructed by the Chen family during the late Qing period, fully preserving the architectural characteristics of that era. The residence offers tangible evidence of the migration patterns and customs of Hakka people in Shenzhen, making it highly valuable for historical research and presenting strong potential for future development.
