6,000 reservations are allowed every day, and opening exhibition series are presentedwith approximately one thousand artistic works showcased for free.

Ideally located at the international business section near Shenzhen North Railway Station, Longhua District, Shenzhen Art Museum (New Venue) shoulders the important mission of transforming Shenzhen into a global and regional cultural center with its special geographical advantages and influence on both the southern and northern regions.

The new museum covers a floor area of 66,000 square meters, with an exhibition area of 20,000 square meters. In addition to its 18 exhibition halls, it is also equipped with an outdoor sculpture exhibition area, lecture halls, art book reading room, space for public educational activities, art-themed restaurant, cultural and creative shops and other supporting multi-functional areas. It is aimed at building an international palace of fine arts that integrates art exhibition, artistic collection, cultural exchange, talent cultivation and public service.

The exhibition showcases the fine collections and important documents of Shenzhen Art Museum and together with the literature and video materials, gives an academic summary of the development process of the old venue of the museum at Donghu Park. It intensively displays the fine collections housed over the past 47 years since the inception of the museum.

The Soul Trembles

Berlin-based international artist Ms. Shiota Chiharu enjoys great fame in contemporary art circles for her performances and installations. This exhibition will take the audience on an artistic tour to look back upon her career from the 1990s till today.

The exhibition displays 120 works, including 78 oil paintings, 2 watercolors, and 40 photography pieces. The works are mainly themed on the scenery of Normandy with other themes like portraits and still life.

45 Years of Shenzhen Art Theme of Literature Exhibition

The exhibition, with the excellent fine arts achievements as the clue, is designed to reflect the significant historical events and the development of the cause of fine arts in Shenzhen over the past 45 years since the reform and opening-up in 1978. It is an important collection of the city’s fine arts classics in recent years.

Qi Baishi Art Collection from 

Beijing Fine Art Academy 

As China’s “People’s Artist” and “World Cultural Figure” in the 20th century, Qi Baishi is one of the most popular painters in China. The exhibition marking the 160th birthday of the artist is the first project of the series of Chinese art masters of the 20th century that lands in Shenzhen Art Museum. It showcases 160 articles/sets of Qi Baishi’s classic works and documents.

Exhibition of Visual Arts from Shenzhen Art Museum

The exhibition showcases approximately 300 photography works selected from more than 4,000 works，presenting a visual development history of Shenzhen from a small fishing village to a modern metropolis and showcasing the earthshaking changes and achievements of Shenzhen since the reform and opening-up in 1978.
