The Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 7th:
To further promote exchanges between China and foreign nationals, the Chinese side has decided to expand the scope of visa-free countries. The policy of visa-free entry will be implemented for ordinary passport holders from six countries: Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
From March 14th to November 30th, 2024, individuals holding ordinary passports from the aforementioned countries can enter China visa-free for purposes such as business, tourism, visiting relatives, and transit, for a stay of up to 15 days. Individuals from the aforementioned countries who do not meet the requirements for visa-free entry still need to obtain a visa to China before arrival.
