Nearly 40 foreign talents in the field of science and technology and tech enthusiasts embarked on a unique immersive tech journey Sunday to discover the smart services and cutting-edge tech innovations in Longhua District.
This group of tech aficionados gathered for the Shenzhen Global Communication Ambassadors Foreign Talent Smart Longhua Tour & Sharing Session held in the Longhua International Cooperation Center on Sunday afternoon.

Participants were first guided to the Longhua Urban Hall to explore key attractions that are part of the newly established industrial tourism routes in Longhua District and witness cutting-edge technological advancements in Longhua.

They then visited the Longhua International Cooperation Center and the “Global Communication Ambassador·Shenzhen Story Club” Longhua Showroom to explore a number of featured sci-tech exhibits and attended a tech story-sharing session.

The event was sponsored by the Publicity Department of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, and the People’s Government of Longhua District. It was organized by the Longhua International Cooperation Center and EyeShenzhen.
Immersive tech experience
Digitalization, science and technology, and intelligence were among the keywords for Sunday’s event.

Michael John Eagleton from Australia gave a speech on the topic of "Application of Technology in Shenzhen," in which he gave an in-depth look at Shenzhen's remarkable progress in fields including 5G technology, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and electric vehicles. He noted that Shenzhen has the culture of innovation and technological advancement and is a one-stop shop for companies and innovators worldwide.

The final speaker, Louay Ali Dib from Syria, delved into the potential impacts of AI on society during his speech.

According to Dib, Longhua's affordable cost of living was a key factor that drew him to the area. “I think one thing very unique about Longhua is that the living cost is very reasonable. You get a lot of luxury and you get a lot of convenience for a very reasonable living cost. And that's something you don't find somewhere else,” Dib added.

One of the event’s attendees, Sava Tomoiaga was amazed by the rapid changes in Longhua District. "Now there is a new library, a new art museum here," she said, adding that “I will bring my children to visit these places and look forward to coming to Longhua again.”
Longhua Showroom
The event also marked the official launch of the “Global Communication Ambassador·Shenzhen Story Club” Longhua Showroom. This immersive experience space showcases Shenzhen stories tailored for a global audience, garnering the interest of the foreign attendees.

The showroom area displays a humanoid robot that can complete tens of thousands of tasks, a monitoring system that can monitor glucose levels in intercellular fluid in real time for 14 days, and a photon-transparent TV that perfectly integrates virtual images with the real environment. The eyes of the foreign technology enthusiasts in attendance were lit up by the black technology products developed by Longhua enterprises.

Communication ambassador project
During the event, a total of nine Shenzhen Global Communication Ambassadors were honored with the title of "Most Active Ambassadors in 2023" for their active involvement in activities and commitment to sharing the stories of Shenzhen with the global community.

Keyth Cristina Nascimento Guimaraes from Brazil, one of the nine rewarded ambassadors, said it is an honor for her to share about her real life in Shenzhen.
“I need to say thank you to EyeShenzhen for choosing me as an ambassador and I hope I can continue promoting Shenzhen to everyone in the world so that more people can know about Shenzhen,” said Guimaraes.
The Shenzhen Global Communication Ambassadors Project, initiated by EyeShenzhen last June, has invited a number of expat friends who follow Shenzhen's urban development, are willing to contribute to Shenzhen's internationalization, and have a professional background and community influence to serve as Shenzhen Global Communication Ambassadors. They are invited to share their experiences of living in Shenzhen and their observations on the city.
