DAY01 - World Map × Handmade Paste-up: Understand the World’s Sustainable Development
Foreign teacher Eric guided kids on a “tour” of the five continents and all countries of the world by having fun with the themed board game “World Map” and assembling diverse natural landscapes and landforms.
Using waste newspapers and periodicals, the kids created a number of handmade paste-ups themed the sustainable development goals. These paste-ups were imbued with wild imagination and great creativity, demonstrating their unique understanding of sustainable development.
“No poverty!” “Reduced Inequalities!” In the SDG exhibition hall, the lovely kids actively raised their hands to answer the teachers’ questions. Through the interactive game of hopscotch and the teacher’s explanations, they kept in mind the sustainable development goals and acquired a deeper understanding of it.
DAY02 - Chinese Calligraphy Lesson × African Day: The Wonderful Collision of Chinese and Foreign Cultures
Fully immersed in the ink-scented world of traditional Chinese painting, the kids sketched out lotus flowers and adorable little crabs on paper under the theme of “Lotus Fun on a Summer Day”.
Foreign teachers from Zimbabwe and South Africa brought little campers African cultural sharing session in Chinese and English, enabling them to roughly know the African continent, alongside the histories, languages, and customs of major African countries such as Nigeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
Furthermore, little campers played the African drum, made African-style string of beads and did face painting. Under the teachers’ instructions, they beat the African drum with music accompaniment, strung brightly colored African-style beads into beautiful bracelets, and applied beautiful colors to their faces......
DAY03 - Typography × Paris Olympic Games: Interlace between Traditional Technology and Modern Sports
On the morning of Day 3, the kids experienced the ancient Chinese technology-typography. Under the teachers’ guidance, they learned about the history, principle and operational methods and made their own printed work by hand.
Utilizing the remaining heat of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, under the guidance of their teacher, the little campers participated in a themed game called "Paris Olympic Games Sports". They volunteered to answer questions, enabling them to deepen their understanding of the Olympic events and ignited their enthusiasm for sports.
DAY04 - Peking Opera × Foreign Drama: Blending Chinese and Western Classic Arts
Dressed up in the traditional facial makeup and costumes of Peking Opera, the campers engaged in an immersive learning experience about the rhythmic singing styles, role classifications, and body movements under the tutelage of professional instructors. The kids also practiced singing classic pieces such as "Selling Water", allowing them to deeply appreciate the allure of Peking Opera artistry.
Apart from Peking Opera, little campers also acted the English drama titled "The Lion King". In diverse costumes, they performed the classic excerpt of the play with vivid body language and well-uttered lines.
