More than 10 South Australian (SA) enterprises displayed products and services at the Showcase SA Trade Expo, which was held at the Longhua International Cooperation Center (LICC) today. The companies, representing various industries like wine, seafood, honey, fashion, and cosmetics, hoped to explore business opportunities in the city.

To strengthen collaboration between companies in Shenzhen and South Australia, the Australian Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (AACCI) International Cooperation Centre's Shenzhen Representative Office was inaugurated at the LICC today.

Ivan Kaukov, president of the AACCI, emphasized the significant potential for SA firms in Shenzhen. He also said that Shenzheners are eager to embrace new products and have a high consumer spending capacity. The AACCI's primary focus as a nonprofit organization is to facilitate connections between companies, provide relevant information, and assist businesses from both sides in identifying new opportunities.

Jelena Jacobs, founder of boutique beauty and wellness brand Osmond Saint, expressed interest in entering the Chinese market and receiving feedback about their products from event attendees. Established in 2019, Osmond Saint is known for its award-winning skincare products, which are made from natural healing ingredients. Jacobs, on her first visit to Shenzhen, said, "Shenzhen is a beautiful city, and people are friendly. I love the place."

During the event, attendees also showed interest in SA wine brand O'Connie — its vineyards are located in the internationally acclaimed Barossa Valley wine region. The company aims to introduce its wines to the diverse consumer base in Shenzhen, according to a company representative.

SA's key development sectors include renewable energy and mining, health, critical technologies, food, wine, agribusiness, creative industries, and tourism. China is the largest trading partner of SA. Exports from SA to China continue to grow, reaching an all-time high in the year from August 2023 to August 2024, according to the SA government website.

The LICC, which serves as an essential platform for international exchange and collaboration, facilitates global expansion for enterprises and provides comprehensive support to address various expansion challenges.
