On November 16, the 2024 Bilingual Speech Contest for Chinese and Expat Residents in Longhua District came to a successful conclusion! The final gathers 20 participants from home and abroad with the theme of "Opportunities" to discuss about the endless possibilities that Shenzhen offers. Chinese Residents

Zoe, an English teacher from Shenzhen Guanlan High School, shared how to make positive changes out of taking chances. To make a “change” out of a “chance”, “D, E, F” are the stepping stones: Dare to step outside your comfort zone, embrace uncertainty, and flow through the darkness, until we see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Expat Residents

Anastasia is a postgraduate student from the College of International Exchange, Shenzhen University. She talked about her unbreakable bond with Shenzhen. She loved Chinese since a child. In Shenzhen, she experienced convenient mobile payments and efficient transport and felt the city's inclusiveness and sense of well-being. She hopes to become an ambassador for cultural exchange between China and Russia, telling the story of Shenzhen and inspiring the infinite possibilities of life.

COMMENTS

Judges gave positive response to the performance of the participants and gave scores from five aspects, including speech content, language expression, styles, innovation & creation and overall impression. They also provided professional comments and suggestions for the contestants.
