Event Highlights

01 Chinese New Year in the Poetic World

The Chinese New Year can be found not only in the modern streets and alleys, but also in the classic poems of ancient times. By interpreting New Year poems in both Chinese and English, and writing the character “福” (blessing), you will be able to experience the romance for ancient Chinese people in literary classics and bring home blessings for the entire year.

02 Step into the "World Intangible Cultural Heritage Version of Spring Festival"

The Spring Festival was inscribed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, turning the “Chinese New Year” into a “Global Festival”. This activity allows you to learn about traditional customs and intangible cultural heritage of the Chinese New Year in both Chinese and English. There will also be an interactive Q&A session, allowing everyone to experience the "international charm" of the Spring Festival through fun interactions.

03 Paper-cutting, Making Red Lanterns and Calendars

Out of a sheet of red paper are cut fulfilled wishes for years on end, and by a red lantern is shone great auspiciousness for one year after another. Through paper-flower cutting, red-lantern making, and particularly gold-foil calendar making, which is a Chinese intangible cultural heritage skill, you can explore the charm of the Chinese New Year in traditional handicraft.

04 Lion Dance Experience

Dragon dance is like the wind, and lion dance is like thunder. As an intangible cultural heritage, lion dance is not merely a cultural show, but also a spiritual inheritance. You can handle the lion’s head personally, transforming yourself into a “lion-hearted youth” in the jubilation of drum beats, and profoundly feel the charm and richness of ethnic culture.

05 DIY Candied Haws on Sticks

As a popular saying goes, “Candied haws on a stick taste sweet and delicious, red fruits are lined neatly along a stick”. By selecting fresh fruits and coating them with sweet syrup, you could DIY the traditional Chinese snack, known as Bingtanghulu and make the flavor of the New Year stronger on your tongue tip.
