Recently, the inauguration ceremony for the APEC Multilingual Volunteer Service Team of Longhua District took place at the Longhua Youth Palace. Over 80 "linguistically skilled" volunteers and team leaders gathered to embark on a new journey of volunteer service.

To provide high-standard support for the 2026 APEC Economic Leaders’ meetings, District Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, in collaboration with District Foreign Affairs Bureau, the Education Youth League Working Committee, and other units, has publicly recruited and formed a volunteer service team of more than 340 members. This team offers support in multiple languages, including English, Korean, German, Russian, Spanish, and French.
Seizing the opportunity of the launch ceremony, the District Committee of the Communist Youth League of China unveiled three flagship initiatives:

The first is the "APEC Youth Night School" Initiative for Service Capacity Enhancement. Building on the established "Youth Night School" programme, this initiative aims to comprehensively improve volunteers' professional skills and international service capabilities through systematic training and practical exercises.
The second is the "Charming Longhua · Global Impressions" Initiative for City Image Promotion. Volunteers will be arranged to visit Longhua's landmark sites and commercial districts. Through various methods such as producing multilingual short videos and recording cultural tour guides, they will present the district's abundant cultural vitality and urban landscape to global audiences. The third is the "Service Window Enhancement and Service Quality Improvement" Initiative for Environmental Optimisation. This involves conducting inspections of foreign-language signage and upgrading service points to create an international, high-quality service environment. The goal is to build a distinctive front-line service interface for Longhua international volunteer service. These three initiatives will be integrated and advanced in a coordinated manner to jointly build a volunteer service brand with Longhua's unique characteristics.

Following the ceremony, all volunteers took part in their first service etiquette training session. The training covered the principles of volunteer service etiquette, professional image, and customs-related considerations in detail. It equipped participants to engage in volunteer work with a more professional demeanour, contributing Longhua's wisdom and sense of responsibility towards the successful hosting of the 2026 APEC Economic Leaders’ meetings.
