To thoroughly prepare for supporting the 2026 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Meeting and strengthen the district’s capacity for international service, the first session of the theme "APEC International Lecture" Series was successfully held at Shenzhen Longhua International Cooperation Center on 27th January. It focused on practical outcomes, enhanced the frontline staff’s skills in international visitor services and cross-cultural communication systematically by training.
More than 600 practitioners from key sectors including commercial areas, catering, hotels, scenic attractions, parks and community organizations,participated in the event.

The lecture focused on service scenarios under the APEC framework, provided a detailed analysis of standard service procedures, professional image management, differentiated service approaches, and emergency response strategies for receiving international guests in sectors such as commercial complexes, hotels, catering, and tourism. Professor Ye Danming explained the core principles of international business etiquette and key points of cross-cultural communication in an insightful manner. She emphasized that through professional service grounded in "respect, integrity, and equality", Longhua District can effectively present a positive international image.

The lecture closely followed various real-life scenarios APEC guests might encounter, covering a full range of service situations including shopping, hotel check-in, dining, community guidance, and park visits. Mr. Jonathan Manili conducted the session through methods including memorization of "Ten Key Service Phrases," scenario-based dialogues, and role-playing exercises. The event focused on practical service English, explanations of cultural differences (such as tea service charges), guidance on payment methods, and basic emergency communication, aiming to effectively address language barriers commonly faced by frontline service staff.

Professor Zhuang Yingyi provided professional guidance on standards for bilingual public signage. She emphasized accuracy, consistency, and cultural appropriateness in translation, with the goal of further standardizing and improving the district’s international language environment and offering clear and friendly guidance for international visitors.
Going forward, Longhua District will continue to focus on APEC service support efforts and advance the "APEC International Lecture" Series in a phased and tageted manner further strengthening cross-departmental coordination and expanding practical drills. It will comprehensively enhance internationalized service standards across all sectors, actively foster a well-regulated, friendly, and convenient business environment, and prepare in optimal condition for the APEC Meeting, demonstrating Longhua’s openness, professionalism, and high-quality service standards to the world.
