Showcasing Her Grace
Empowering Her Strength
Envisioning Her Future
March 8 is a day dedicated to women around the world. To celebrate this special day, Longhua hosted a variety of warm and engaging activities—from sweet hands-on workshops and lively cultural exchanges to inspiring moments on stage where ideas and voices met. Women from different countries and cultural backgrounds came together, sharing laughter and stories as they enjoyed a festive moment that truly belonged to "her".

On the afternoon of March 8, the Global Reading Room at the Shenzhen Longhua International Cooperation Center (LICC) was filled with the delightful aroma of cream and fresh fruit. A Women's Day cake-decorating workshop themed "She's the Pro" was warmly held. Ladiesfrom China, France, Italy, Spain, Russia and other countries gathered together to enjoy a sweet and joyful celebration in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The event began with a warm and empowering Women Talk session. Participants sat together and shared the female role models who inspire them. Some mentioned freestyle skiing champion Eileen Gu, who has continually pushed her limits on the international stage, while others spoke about Tao Huabi, founder of the famous Chinese brand "Lao Gan Ma", whose entrepreneurial journey turned a simple homemade chili sauce into a globally recognized brand. Through these vivid and heartfelt conversations, participants saw the many faces of women's strength and found inspiration and resonance in each other's experiences.

The atmosphere became lively and fun in the cake-making session. Under the guidance of a professional baking instructor, participants learned the basic method of decorating a cake—from spreading cream and layering fillings to piping decorative patterns. As everyone worked on their creations while chatting and laughing together, the room was filled with joy. As the beautifully decorated cakes gradually took shape, a sense of pride and accomplishment spread across the room.
If this gathering allowed women to share stories and connect with one another in a warm and relaxed setting, then elsewhere in Longhua, women's power was shining even more brightly on a larger stage.
The themed event "WOMEN Meet APEC" — Showcasing Her Grace, Empowering Her Strength, and Envisioning Her Future, celebrating the 2026 International Women's Day, was successfully launched at GALA BAY in Minzhi Subdistrict, Longhua District, Shenzhen.

The event was filled with a strong international atmosphere throughout. The subdistrict representative skillfully incorporated English into the opening remarks, while the subsequent recitation performance featured delightful bilingual elements. Although Rita from Spain was unable to attend in person, she specially recorded a video message to send her festive greetings, and her warm wishes from afar brought a heartfelt touch to the event.

The stage performances were impressive. Powerful Chinese drum performances and elegant cheongsam shows highlighted the beauty of traditional Chinese culture, while African drumming and straw-hat dances brought vibrant international rhythms. These diverse performances blended seamlessly, showcasing the confidence and diversity of women in the new era.

One of the most popular highlights of the event was the lively Women's Market. Visitors explored a wide range of experiences, including AI technology displays, specialty foods, beauty and wellness services, and community health programs. The intangible cultural heritage (ICH) creative area was particularly attractive, drawing many international guests to stop and experience traditional Chinese crafts firsthand. Through these interactive moments, the charm of Chinese culture was vividly shared, and cultural exchange became even more engaging and meaningful.
This International Women's Day, Longhua celebrated women in many different ways. Ladies from around the world gathered together, building friendships through conversation, gaining inspiration through shared experiences, and envisioning a broader future through dialogues and cultural exchanges.
We will continue to create more opportunities for exchanges between Chinese and international communities, bringing people and cultures together and allowing more women's voices and talents to shine through cooperation and connection.
