came to a joyful close at LICC.
Friends from all over the world—
including the UK, France,
Canada, Colombia, and beyond,
joined the celebration with great enthusiasm.
It seems that the Dragon Boat Festival,
one of China's most iconic cultural traditions,
has truly gained international popularity!

端午节是中国传统节日之一，是集拜神祭祖、祈福辟邪、欢庆娱乐和饮食为一体的民俗大节，已列入世界非物质文化遗产名录。其三大传说分别纪念：战国爱国诗人屈原、春秋忠臣伍子胥和东汉孝女曹娥，承载了爱国、忠义、孝道等多重价值。
The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the traditional festivals in China. It is a folk festival that combines worshiping gods and ancestors, praying for blessings and warding off evil, celebration, entertainment and foods. It has been included in the list of world intangible cultural heritage. The festival is associated with three well-known legends, commemorating Qu Yuan, the patriotic poet of the Warring States period; Wu Zixu, a loyal statesman of the Spring and Autumn period; and Cao E, a devoted daughter from the Eastern Han Dynasty. Together, these stories embody cherished Chinese values such as patriotism, loyalty, and filial piety.

准备大展身手然而五分钟之后……

At the start of the event,
everyone confidently picked up bamboo strips,
ready to show off their crafting skills.
Five minutes later...
"How does this piece go through here?"
"Did I miss a step?"
"Teacher, help!"
看似简单的竹编龙舟
实则是一场耐心的终极考验
What looked like a simple bamboo-woven dragon boat turned out to be the ultimate test of patience.
射五毒
Shooting the "Five-Poisons"
“五毒”是哪五毒？
蝎子、蛇、蜈蚣、壁虎、蟾蜍不管射中哪个
都可以品尝五毒饼
Do you know the "Five Poisons"
of traditional Chinese folklore?
They are the scorpion, snake,
centipede, gecko, and toad.
Participants tried on
the traditional "Shooting the Five Poisons" game,
and no matter which creature they hit,
they were rewarded with Five Poisons pastry.

Sweet Zongzi vs. Savory Zongzi
现场还准备了各种口味的粽子
紫糯栗蓉粽、金丝蜜枣粽、豆沙粽
蛋黄肉粽、椰子鸡靓汤粽
大家对此赞不绝口👍
A variety of flavors were prepared for everyone to enjoy, including:
Purple Glutinous Rice with Chestnut Paste Zongzi,
Honey Date Zongzi,
Red Bean Paste Zongzi,
Egg Yolk with Pork Zongzi
and Coconut Chicken Soup Zongzi.
Everyone was full of praise. 👍
