Residents of Longhua, take note — the long-awaited Shenzhen Metro Line 22 has reached another milestone.
Minzhi North Station
Top-Down Station Base Slab Completed
According to Shenzhen Metro Group, the base slab of Minzhi North Station — the first top-down constructed station on Line 22 Phase I, Work Section V — has been successfully completed. This marks the full completion of the main structure of the line's first top-down station, with shield tunneling now ready to proceed, further accelerating construction of Line 22.
Minzhi North Station is located at the intersection of Minzhi Avenue and Bulong Road in Longhua District. It forms a T-shaped interchange with the Shenzhen Airport–Dayawan Intercity Railway currently under construction, and serves as the dual launching point for four tunnel boring machines (TBMs) operating in both the Minzhi North–cut-and-cover section and the Minzhi North–Songhe Station running tunnels.

Recently, Line 22 has also completed several other key works:
·The left-line TBM for the Songxuan–Songyuansha running tunnel was successfully launched, marking the official commencement of shield tunneling for this section. ·The northern diversion works for the Guanhu Station section were successfully completed.
Shenzhen Metro Line 22 Phase I is a north–south express rail transit line running through the central corridor of the city. With a total length of 34.7 km, the line originates at Shangsha Station and terminates at Liguang Station, passing through Futian, Longhua, and Longgang districts. The line comprises one depot and one stabling yard — the Liguang Depot and the Xiangmi Stabling Yard — and includes a total of 21 underground stations: 3 hub stations, 10 interchange stations, and 8 standard stations.

According to earlier announcements by Shenzhen Metro Group, Line 22 Phase I is scheduled to open in 2028. Upon completion, the line will establish a rapid transit network enabling a 45-minute journey between Guanlan and Futian, and a 60-minute reach to areas adjacent to Shenzhen's boundaries. It will effectively improve traffic conditions at the Meilin Pass, strengthen rail transit service capacity along the central passenger corridor, and significantly alleviate cross-district commuting pressure.
