Shenzhen Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export was founded on December 16th, 2003, approved by the Shenzhen Municipal Government and led by the former Municipal Bureau of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Municipal Chamber of Commerce, and registered by the Municipal Bureau of Public Administration as a new social organisation after the restructuring in 2005. With the tenet of ‘providing services, reflecting demands and regulating the industry’ and the service concept of ‘openness, inclusiveness, co-operation and innovation’, the Chamber has been doing its best to provide quality services for its member enterprises.

The Chamber has set up the Import Committee, Export Committee, Trade Digitalisation Committee, Ceramics Sub-committee and Cross-border E-commerce Committee in order to deliver timely policies and regulations and interpretations, to organise visits and exchanges among entrepreneurs, and to collect and reflect difficulties and demands encountered by enterprises in the process of globalisation. The Chamber makes proposals to the Municipal People's Congress and Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference on the main issues in the areas of international marketing, branding, facilitating customs clearance, tax rebates for exports, foreign exchange settlements, enterprise financing, intellectual property protection, enterprises going abroad, and so on. The Chamber plays an active role in international marketing, branding, customs clearance, export tax rebates, foreign exchange settlements, enterprise financing, intellectual property protection, enterprises going out, participation in famous global exhibitions, Canton Fair, green and low-carbon, and so on.

The Chamber is a workstation for monitoring the operation of foreign trade and economic cooperation in Guangdong Province, and protecting intellectual property rights and fair trade. At the same time, the Chamber has been awarded as one of the ‘Four Excellent’ Chambers of Commerce in China issued by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, ‘Four-Excellent’ Chambers of Commerce in Guangdong issued by the Guangdong Federation of Industry and Commerce, and ‘Four-Excellent’ Chambers of Commerce in Shenzhen issued by the Civil Affairs Bureau. The Chamber was also awarded ‘AAAAA Social Organisation’ by Shenzhen Civil Affairs Bureau, ‘Four-Excellent Chamber of Commerce’ by Shenzhen Federation of Industry and Commerce, ‘Key Export Enterprises Research Base’ by Shenzhen Taxation Bureau, ‘Key Export Enterprises Research Base’ by Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Bureau ". The Chamber has been awarded as “Shenzhen Overseas Consular Protection Publicity Station” by the Foreign Affairs Office of Shenzhen Municipal People's Government. The Chamber continues to improve the service function, accurate docking, sincere service, to explore the establishment of empowering chamber value service system, and to help Shenzhen foreign trade import and export high-quality development.
