Longhua students connect with pen pals in PNG
Since June, students at Butuka Academy in Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea (PNG), have been receiving letters from their Chinese pen pals at Longhua Foreign Languages School.
In these letters, written in English and accompanied by small gifts, the Shenzhen students introduce traditional Chinese culture to their pen pals in Oceania.
The letter exchange program between the Longhua Foreign Languages School Education Group and Butuka Academy was initiated by the Shenzhen Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and Longhua District People’s Government.
Butuka Academy, built with assistance from Shenzhen, is part of broader educational and infrastructural cooperation between China and PNG. Located in southern Port Moresby, the academy serves students from elementary to secondary levels, offering modern facilities aimed at enhancing education quality in the region.
