Most students in grades 10 and 11 in Dapeng New Area, as well as in Guangming, Futian, Luohu, Longgang, Longhua, Nanshan and Pingshan districts, have returned to campus Thursday as recent COVID flare-ups had been mostly put under control.
Students in compulsory education in Nanshan, Longhua (except Xintian Community in Guanhu Subdistrict) and Longgang Districts have also returned to schools Thursday.
Kindergarten students in Nanshan, Longgang and Guangming will return to school Friday, according to notices issued by each district's education authority.
Students in Bao’an District will resume school in batches Thursday and Friday.
Students from grades 4 to 6 in Futian have been arranged to return to school Tuesday, while those in grades 1 to 3 will resume in-person learning Wednesday, according to the Futian District Education Bureau.
Students must undergo COVID testing for three consecutive days before their return date, while school areas must be thoroughly disinfected before opening to students to ensure safety.
In addition, luggage disinfection areas were seen set up at Shenzhen Senior High School (High School Campus), a new high school campus in Longgang District that has been put into use this fall, along with welcoming signs.
Longcheng Senior High School prepared three large vehicles to transport students’ luggage to their dormitories after the luggage had been disinfected.
The school said it has formed an effective COVID prevention and control procedure for students to return to school safely, including quick checks on students’ testing records and results, as well as body temperatures before each entry.
Earlier in September, Grade 12 students meeting related requirements were put into enclosed management for face-to face classes.
