Haichang Ocean Park will build a snow-ice theme park at Haiya Mega Mall in Bao’an District, according to a notice released by Haichang Ocean Park recently.

The snow-ice theme park will cater to children and it will become Haichang Ocean Park’s first snow-ice project for children. It will include a family entertainment center and be built as an internet-famous spot, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

This is also the first ongoing project after Haichang Ocean Park and Guangzhou Lehome Entertainment Co. Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement. In addition to the snow-ice theme park in Bao’an, Guangzhou Lehome is also responsible for two other snow-ice theme parks in Guangzhou and Foshan.

The building of the Haichang’s children snow-ice center in Shenzhen will complement Shenzhen’s snow-ice theme cultural and tourism industry, said the report.

As the biggest developer and operator of ocean theme parks, Haichang Ocean Park now has 10 theme parks operated under the brand Haichang and another theme park that is being constructed.

Over the past few years, more skating rinks have been built in districts across the city such as Futian, Nanshan, Longhua and Longgang to allow citizens enjoy ice and snow sports.

Pan Gaofeng, a skating coach, said that teenagers are mostly interested in skating training. With a growing number of ice skating venues, kids can learn the sport more easily. The building also plays a big role in improving the influence of ice and snow sports, according to Pan.
