The "Voice of Chinese Youth" foreign language speech contest is the first team-based, multilingual and innovative domestic youth speech contest taking place both online and onsite, co-hosted by the Longhua Foreign Affairs Bureau and the Longhua Education Bureau of Shenzhen. The Contest aims to promote the global image of Longhua District and internationalize teenagers' development. This year, the Contest features  "The First Overseas Invitational Tourament". Registration for the competition is now officially open. Come and join us !

Competition Procedures

The length of the speech video shall be 2-6 minutes.

The language of the speech shall be English or other foreign languages, and bilingual subtitles in both Chinese and a certain foreign language (preferably English) are required.

Team Contest

The speech topic shall center around fine traditional Chinese cultural elements, such as representative literary works, passages, characters, poems, festivals, allusions, idioms, calligraphy, novels, operas and customs. Based on traditional Chinese culture and with a global vision, contestants are encouraged to tell China's stories, express China's views and make Chinese youth heard.

For the preliminary round of the team competition, please record a speech video jointly completed by around 4-10 students from each school and send it to email 1521502695@qq.com before midnight of June 10, 2023. (Please include information such as school name, grade, student name, instructor's name, and parent contact information in the email.)

The length of the record video shall be 5-10 minutes.

The language of the speech shall be English or other foreign languages (can also be delivered in multiple languages), with subtitles in both Chinese and a certain foreign language  (preferably English).

Each department is free to submit 1-2 team video(s).

Award Setting

Individual competitions will be divided into different groups based on the participants' academic years, with the first, second, and third prizes awarded proportionally. The award-winning students and their mentors will receive official certificates of honour, and the top ten students in each competition group will be awarded exquisite prizes.

In the team competition, schools will compete for the first, second, and third places, as well as awards such as Best Organization Award, Best Creativity Award, Best Audiovisual Effect Award, based on their respective groups. The award-winning schools will receive corresponding trophies and honorary certificates. Students and their instructors of the champion teams in each category will also be awarded exquisite prizes.
