Last month, a team from the Longhua-based Caring Heart United Fund embarked on a heartfelt mission, visiting local hospitals, nurseries, and rehabilitation centers that cater to children facing various challenges such as disabilities or requiring intensive care.

Their visit aimed to extend support, care and solidarity to these young individuals, creating a positive impact on their lives and fostering a sense of compassion within the community.

The team was led by Dong Jiantong, a young philanthropist commended by Longhua District Charity Foundation.

The team visited the pediatric rehabilitation facilities at Shenzhen Renhe Hospital, which specializes in providing treatment for children afflicted with cerebral palsy, dysgnosia, autism, and other cognitive diseases.

They engaged in discussions with the hospital staff, focusing on various aspects related to therapies for children with special needs. The team had the opportunity to visit the comprehensive rehabilitation and music therapy rooms, where they observed firsthand the rehabilitation experiences of children. Additionally, they also delved into the current operational challenges faced by the hospital, fostering a meaningful exchange of insights and ideas.

The team interacted with mentally retarded children at the Haina Pediatric Rehabilitation Center and understood how the children overcome their disability, learn skills and reintegrate into society as ordinary people after rehabilitation.

At the Bailing Rehabilitation Home for Hearing Impaired Children, Dong and other team members participated as teaching assistants in a public rehabilitation class, where they made fans and played games with the children. They were also invited to the birthday party of a child at the center.

Established in July 2019, the Caring Heart United Fund is the first charity organization in Longhua District dedicated to the rehabilitation of children with disabilities and the treatment of children in intensive care.
