Here comes a good news for travelers who often find themselves commuting to and from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport during the late hours - the Airport Express now operates overnight, according to the city's transportation authority.

Starting from Nov. 4, Shenzhen Bus Group began to offer overnight service on eight Airport Express routes, providing seamless connections to the latest arriving flights at the airport. These services cover Futian, Luohu, Nanshan, Bao'an, Longgang, Longhua, Guangming, and Pingshan district. The fares remain the same as during daytime.

Convenient and efficient ground transportation services are essential for a world-class international airport. The new service will enhance the travel experience of late-night arriving passengers, ensure reliable public transportation during nighttime travel, reflecting the warmth of Shenzhen, the spokesman of Shenzhen Bus Group said.

After arriving at the airport during nighttime, they can follow the airport signage to reach the Airport Express ticket counter at Gate 17 of the Ground Transportation Center to purchase tickets. Ms. Lan, who arrived in Shenzhen from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on the early morning of Saturday, noticed that there were still staff members from the Airport Express service although it was already 3:30 am.

"They told me they now offer overnight operations, making it convenient for late-night arrivals to reach their homes. This is great!" said Lan, who resides in Guangming District.

Since the beginning of this year, the passenger service of the Shenzhen airport has recovered rapidly due to the travel market's recovery. By the end of October, the passenger throughput at the airport reached 43 million, with the maximum daily passenger volume  exceeding 180,000 and more than 1,100 flight taking off and landing in a single day.

Shenzhen has introduced a series of innovative measures to provide passengers with more humane and convenient services, including "Everyone has a Seat" taxi waiting areas, air-conditioned waiting rooms for ride-hailing services, and the "Bay Area Commute" intercity carpooling program, which caters to the travel needs of passengers going to surrounding cities such as Dongguan and Huizhou cities.

It provides various services, including intercity transportation, business car rentals, customized charters, and family car services, to meet the diverse and personalized travel needs of passengers.

The Shenzhen airport has received prestigious service-related awards such as the "Best Airport with Passenger Throughput of Over 40 million in the Asia-Pacific Region," "Excellent Service Quality Airport with Over 10 million Passengers," and "SKYTRA's Best Progress Airport Worldwide." These accolades demonstrate the industry and passengers' recognition of the airport's service standards and signify steady progress towards building a world-class international airport.

The Shenzhen airport was named as the World’s Most Improved Airport in 2023, as released by London-based international air rating firm Skytrax. It has been named the best airport with a passenger throughput of more than 40 million in the Asia-Pacific region for three years in a row.
