China’s top table tennis league concludes season in Longhua

The China Table Tennis Super League (CTTSL) concluded its 2023 season at the Longhua Culture and Sports Center on Dec. 24. The Shandong Luneng and Shenzhen University teams claimed the titles in the men's and women's groups, respectively.


The finals featured a star-studded lineup of table tennis players, including Ma Long, former captain of China's National Men's Table Tennis Team, and current national team members such as Xu Xin, Fan Zhengdong, Li Gaoyuan, Sun Yingsha, and Chen Meng.

Liang Jingkun from the Shandong Weiqiao Table Tennis Club and Wang Manyu from the Shandong Luneng Tennis Club were named MVPs of the finals.


The event, which began Dec. 22 in Longhua, included the semifinals and finals of both men's and women's groups, as well as a tryout to select 7- to 10-year-old players for the national youth table tennis team.


Chen Meng, a player from Shenzhen University and a member of Chinas National Womens Table Tennis Team, expressed her excitement at winning the league title at home. "The title is well-deserved, as all the members of our team gave their all in winning the match," Chen said.

The event was hosted by the China Table Tennis Association, supported by the Guangdong Provincial Sports Bureau, and organized by the Longhua District Government and the Longhua District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism, and Sports Bureau.
