"Shenzhen is one of the most underrated cities in China," remarked American YouTube sensation Darren Watkins Jr., better known as IShowSpeed, as he admired a dazzling drone show at Shenzhen Talent Park on April 5. The performance marked a memorable finale to his exploration of the city’s cutting-edge tech scene.

The show featured over 1,500 drones produced by Damoda, a tech company based in Longhua District. These drones flew in meticulously choreographed formations, displaying intricate motifs such as a soaring dragon, a flying orc, and iconic Shenzhen landmarks.

To ensure the success of this large-scale aerial display, Damoda’s executive team deployed advanced swarm control technology, an anti-interference communication system, and a smart navigation platform.

According to Shenzhen Economic Daily, Damoda’s drone swarm technology has been developed with a focus on safety, automation, intelligence, and networked control. The team has participated in six CCTV Spring Festival Galas and set a Guinness World Record with a performance involving over 10,000 drones—a global first of its kind.

A company representative noted that Damoda’s upgraded positioning system now achieves millimeter-level accuracy, significantly enhancing flight precision and stability. This improvement allows for more refined and visually stable aerial shows, enabling the creation of breathtakingly detailed sky art.

Damoda also merges traditional Chinese culture with modern technology, employing 3D modeling and lighting design to bring rich storytelling to its drone performances. The image of a soaring dragon, for instance, not only captivated IShowSpeed but also symbolized China’s cultural heritage—projected to the world through a high-tech lens.
