The Zhangkengjing Heliport, the first of its kind in Longhua District and a future hub for the city’s low-altitude transportation network, has completed site leveling and is expected to be fully built by the end of 2027, according to the district’s Industry and Information Technology Bureau.

Under a two-year municipal plan to advance high-quality development of low-altitude infrastructure, Longhua, together with Nanshan, Longgang, Bao’an, and Guangming districts, has been designated as a key development area for the low-altitude economy. The plan also outlines the relocation of Nantou Heliport to Longhua, where it will be upgraded and reopened as the Zhangkengjing Heliport.

Located in Guanlan Subdistrict, the heliport spans 25.83 hectares with a construction area of 75,380 square meters. It will function as a terminal for general aviation operations including helicopter services, emergency response and medical rescue, and pilot training. Supporting facilities will include runways, aprons, hangars, and departure lounges.

The heliport is set to boost the local low-altitude industry by serving as a testing base and quality inspection center for aircraft. A low-altitude industrial park and an all-scenario exhibition center will also be developed on site.
