Shenzhen-based fashion brand HUI unveiled its Spring/Summer 2026 ready-to-wear collection at Milan Fashion Week in Milan, Italy on Sept. 28, local time.
Themed “The Song of Silver,” the runway show was transformed into a multisensory cultural experience space, blending traditional Chinese Miao ethnic group silver ornamentation with contemporary design.
The brand has long dedicated itself to promoting Chinese culture by integrating the essence of Chinese intangible cultural heritage elements into contemporary fashion.
This time, the collection draws inspiration from the distinctive sounds of Miao silver bells, sheets and pendants, integrating these auditory elements into the core design language. Models walked to the rhythmic “sound sculptures” created by the clinking silver against textiles, a tribute to Miao intangible cultural heritage and an interpretation of the "soundscape co-existence" philosophy in Eastern aesthetics.
HUI collaborated with intangible cultural heritage silver workshops in Guizhou Province, home to a significant Miao population, to craft the silver ornaments. Some pieces were made by Miao silversmith inheritors. The exquisite silver, reinterpreted with abstract, minimalist modern design, is incorporated into silk, denim and chiffon, creating a visual tension between strength and softness.
The collection also emphasizes “sustainable exquisite handicraft art,” utilizing recycled silk, organic cotton and plant-dyed denim.
“‘The Song of Silver’ is an effort to capture and amplify the sounds of the East, and an experiment in achieving cultural healing through fashion,” said Zhao Huizhou, founder and chief designer of HUI. “We hope that through our collection, the world can hear the calmness and strength of Eastern culture.”
