With a total prize purse of US$ 2 million, the Aramco China Championship, part of the PIF ( Public Investment Fund) Global Series, took place at the Mission Hills Golf Club in Guanlan, Longhua District from Nov. 6 to 8. Ahead of the tournament, a series of golf experience activities have been held to allow local residents to get a real taste of the sport.

Two Ladies European Tour (LET) players --- Marianne Skarpnord from Norway and Olivia Cowan from Germany --- visited a local school in Shenzhen on Nov. 4 to participate in an exchange event with over 140 students.
During the event, the players had a Q&A session with the students, shared chipping and putting techniques, and invited them to try the sport themselves. For many of the students, it was their very first time experiencing golf.

“Golf is a charming sport, yet very changeable. So playing gold can be very challenging --- one day you might play really well, and the next day not so much. It tests your patience,” Skarpnord shared at the event.
In another development, over 30 students from Shenzhen Foreign Languages Primary School visited the golf course and interacted with China LPGA Tour champion Lin Qianhui and Thai player Prima Thammaraks.
“It is my first time at a golf course --- it is so big and interesting!” said a participating student. “The player was really nice and taught me how to use the club!”
The PIF Global Series is a Ladies European Tour (LET)-sanctioned event, and the Aramco China Championship in Shenzhen serves as the final stop of the 2025 season, following tournaments in Saudi Arabia, Korea, the U.K., and the U.S.
