To ensure high-quality support for the 2026 APEC summit and strengthen its capacity to provide international services, Longhua District held the "APEC International Lecture: Longhua District APEC-oriented Initiative to Enhance International Services Capacities" on Tuesday.

Organized by the Longhua District Foreign Affairs Bureau, co-organized by the Longhua District Committee Organization Department, and hosted by the Longhua International Cooperation Center (LICC), the event brought together representatives from key business districts, hotels, scenic spots, catering enterprises, and volunteer groups to focus on building foreign-related service capabilities.

The lecture featured three thematic sessions: Ye Danming, a visiting professor with the China Hospitality Association, spoke on international business etiquette. Foreign trainer Jonathan Manili from the China (Shenzhen) International Personnel Training Center conducted interactive English training for daily reception scenarios; and assistant professor Zhuang Yingyi from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, elaborated on the standardization of bilingual public signage translation.

The series aimed to systematically strengthen professionals' global service capabilities and optimize Longhua's international business environment.

Zhang Zhuo, a member of the Longhua multilingual volunteer team for the 2026 APEC summit, shared her insights on the importance of professional image and first impressions at high-level international events. She stressed the need for a consistent, neat, and appropriate dress code and emphasized projecting a welcoming image through attentive eye contact, natural smiles, and a poised posture, behaviors that reflect positively on both Longhua and China.

For future training, she suggested adding practical scenario simulations —such as foreign guest reception procedures, international conference services, and emergency response drills — along with strengthened business English listening and speaking practice and more in-depth study of Longhua's internationalization policies and key industries, to better align training with real-world service needs.
