More than 4,300 red lanterns have been installed along major roads, including Longhua Avenue, Renmin Road, Bulong Road, Qinghu Road and Guangchang Yanhe Road. Neatly suspended from streetlight poles, the lanterns add a vibrant splash of “Chinese red” to the urban landscape, enhancing the festive mood in neighborhoods throughout the district.
Themed floral displays add color

A themed floral installation at Meilin Checkpoint adds vibrant color and festive cheer to the city gateway.
To further enrich the holiday scenery, Longhua has created themed floral installations at prominent locations such as Meilin Checkpoint and the plaza in front of the district government building.
At Meilin Checkpoint — an important gateway into the district — seasonal flowers including red and purple bougainvillea have been arranged alongside festive landscape features bearing New Year greetings, offering a warm welcome to those entering Longhua.
The floral display outside the district government building centers on the theme “Welcoming the New Spring, Celebrating the Year of the Horse.” Designed with red and gold as the dominant tones and complemented by lush greenery, the installation blends traditional festive elements with a contemporary aesthetic, highlighting both holiday spirit and civic pride.
Smart lighting illuminates the night

Night lighting brightens Meilin Checkpoint.
When night falls, Longhua’s illuminated nightscape adds another layer to the festive ambiance. Decorative lighting highlights key landmarks and corridors, including Shenzhen North Railway Station, North Station Central Park, the Guanlan River waterfront and Longhua Avenue. Bridges, interchanges and major roads are also lit with coordinated lighting effects, extending the New Year atmosphere throughout the district.
Longhua uses a citywide intelligent lighting monitoring system that enables remote control of streetlights and landscape lighting. The system automatically adjusts brightness and operating times according to different periods and scenarios, ensuring precise lighting while minimizing energy consumption. During the Spring Festival period, inspection and maintenance efforts have been strengthened to guarantee stable operation.
