A social media message from the founder of the open-source AI agent OpenClaw has unexpectedly drawn attention to Longhua District’s growing mini-PC industry cluster.

Peter Steinberger, founder of OpenClaw, recently left a public comment under the account of Beelink, saying he hoped to obtain one of the brand’s mini computers. The message quickly circulated among developers experimenting with locally deployed AI agents.

As interest grows worldwide in running AI models locally for greater privacy and lower costs, mini PCs are becoming an increasingly popular hardware platform thanks to their compact size, energy efficiency and improving computing power.

Among developers, running the OpenClaw agent locally has even sparked an online meme known as “raising lobsters,” a playful reference to the project’s Chinese nickname “Little Lobster.” The trend has further boosted interest in affordable personal computing hardware capable of supporting AI workloads.

The brand mentioned in Steinberger’s comment, Beelink, belongs to Shenzhen AZW Technology Co., Ltd., a company based in Longhua District. The episode has drawn renewed attention to Dalang Subdistrict in Longhua, which has developed into an important hub for mini-PC manufacturing.

Located in Shenzhen, one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturing centers, Longhua benefits from a mature supply chain and a strong hardware innovation ecosystem. Over the years, Dalang has cultivated three leading companies in the mini-PC sector.

Shenzhen CYX Industrial Co. (创盈芯) is a national-level “specialized and sophisticated” enterprise focusing on mini-PC manufacturing. According to company data, its products account for around 50–60% of the European and U.S. markets, and its output value exceeded 1.06 billion yuan in 2024, representing a 111.1% year-on-year growth.

Shenzhen GMK Technology Co., Ltd. (GMKtec, 极摩客) is another rapidly expanding player. Operating under the GMKtec brand, the company develops and manufactures compact desktop computing devices. In 2024, its output value surpassed 400 million yuan (US$58 million), marking a 243.2% year-on-year growth.

Together, the three companies generated more than 4 billion yuan in output value in 2025, forming the backbone of Longhua’s emerging mini-PC industry cluster.

To further strengthen the sector, Dalang Subdistrict has introduced a Mini PC Industry Action Plan, focusing on strengthening the industrial chain, ensuring the supply of industrial space, fostering innovation ecosystems and improving enterprise services.

With demand rising for compact computing hardware capable of supporting locally deployed AI applications, Longhua’s mini-PC manufacturers are increasingly well positioned to supply the devices powering the next wave of personal AI experimentation.
