Participants compete during a community football training session in Longtang, Minzhi Subdistrict, Longhua District.
The fifth round of Longtang community football training kicked off recently in Minzhi Subdistrict, Longhua District, drawing amateur players from a wide range of professions — and adding an international dimension with the on-site guidance of a German coach.
Held at Future Primary School, the program combines intensive match-based drills with upgraded support in safety, equipment and coaching. Participants, many arriving after work from sectors including technology, finance, education and healthcare, train together in a setting that blends community spirit with increasingly professional standards.
A highlight of this session is the involvement of German coach Andre, who brings experience in youth development and international coaching. His presence introduces European training concepts and tactical insights, offering local players rare, close-up exposure to international football methodologies.
Beyond skills, organizers have strengthened safety provisions by incorporating AED (automated external defibrillator) training, ensuring participants are equipped with basic emergency response knowledge.
Uniform training kits, newly introduced with community support, have also enhanced team cohesion and the overall training atmosphere.
Since recruitment began earlier this year, the Longtang community football training has expanded its reach through multi-channel promotion, reflecting growing enthusiasm for football at the community level. The program’s mix of local participation and international input underscores Minzhi’s evolving identity as an open, globally connected neighborhood — where even a small football pitch can serve as a platform for cross-cultural exchange.
