Chinese mini-PC maker GMKtec showcased its latest artificial intelligence (AI) applications and global expansion strategy during a technology event at its headquarters in Shenzhen’s Longhua District, as the company seeks to position itself in the fast-growing AI hardware market.

The event, titled “GMKtec AI Supercomputing · Smart Vision China Tech Day,” brought together digital content creators from Europe and the United States, along with representatives from international media. Through guided tours and hands-on demonstrations, attendees were introduced to the company’s research, manufacturing capabilities and overseas market ambitions.

Visitors toured the company’s exhibition space, research and development facilities and digital production lines, offering a view of its end-to-end operations — from product design to final assembly. Company representatives said GMKtec has pursued a dual strategy in recent years, investing in in-house innovation while expanding its presence in global markets. Its products are now sold in multiple regions, supported by a growing international sales and service network.

A key focus of the event was the company’s push to bring “desktop-level AI computing power” to consumer devices. By shifting certain AI processing tasks from the cloud to local hardware, GMKtec aims to improve data security, reduce latency and make AI tools more accessible across a wider range of use cases.

Attendees said the demonstrations provided a clearer understanding of the pace of innovation among Chinese technology firms.

During a tour of the manufacturing facility, guests observed automated production processes, including component inspection, assembly and pre-shipment testing. The company said its standardized procedures and quality control systems are designed to support large-scale production while maintaining product reliability.

The event concluded with interactive sessions where participants discussed industry trends, product development and global market dynamics. Many attendees shared their experiences on international social media platforms, potentially increasing overseas visibility for Chinese consumer technology brands.
