A representative of the Longhua District Bureau of Commerce introduces Longhua's development strengths and business opportunities during an economic and trade exchange conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in May.
Companies from Longhua District secured intended orders worth more than 12 billion yuan (US$1.67 billion) during a trade and investment mission to Malaysia, marking a significant step in the district's efforts to expand its presence in Southeast Asia.
A delegation led by Longhua District Party Secretary Wang Wei visited Malaysia from May 12 to 15, holding a series of business dialogues, industrial park visits, trade exchanges and cooperation meetings focused on semiconductors, the digital economy, smart manufacturing, new energy and healthcare.
A key event of the visit was the China (Shenzhen Longhua)-Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference, which brought together representatives from Malaysian government agencies, business associations and leading companies in sectors including electronics, new energy, intelligent manufacturing and healthcare.
During the conference, Longhua showcased its strengths in the digital economy, life sciences, new energy and cross-border e-commerce, as well as its internationalized business environment.
Twelve Longhua-based companies, including Leoch International, Shenzhen CYX Industrial Co. and UGREEN, participated in targeted business matchmaking activities and reached a number of cooperation intentions with Malaysian partners. The intended orders totaled more than 12 billion yuan.
The visit reflects Longhua's broader push to help local companies explore overseas markets and strengthen links with global industrial and supply chains. Malaysia, one of Southeast Asia's key manufacturing and technology hubs, has become an increasingly important destination for Chinese companies seeking growth opportunities in the ASEAN market.
In recent years, Longhua has introduced a range of initiatives to support business development and international expansion. The district has built a comprehensive overseas service network through its industrial globalization alliance and the "Golden 26" industry support package, bringing together resources from customs, taxation, finance, export credit insurance and legal services.
The Shenzhen (Longhua) International Cooperation Center has established links with partners in 130 countries and regions and organizes more than 300 international business and trade exchange activities annually. The district is also home to HUA HUB, also known as the UNDP SDG Innovation Lab (Shenzhen Longhua), which helps connect local innovators with international partners and global networks.
As Shenzhen prepares to host APEC 2026, Longhua is continuing to deepen economic and trade cooperation with international partners while helping local companies expand into global markets and strengthen their presence across Southeast Asia.
