The Industrial Cooperation Exchange Conference between Longhua District, Shenzhen and Australia was held July 31 at the Shenzhen Longhua International Cooperation Center (LICC). The event brought together representatives from the renewable energy, high-tech, innovation and healthcare sectors.

Hosted by LICC and organized by the Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Service Center, the exchange was co-organized by the Trade and Investment Queensland China Office of Australia and the Australian Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI).

Presentations covered Longhua's investment climate, Australian market entry, and regional briefings on Queensland and South Australia, followed by enterprise matchmaking sessions featuring Australian firm Goldilocks Suits.

LICC, the largest district-level platform of its kind in China, blends government and market resources to serve international organizations, foreign businesses and overseas professionals, organizers said. The center stages outbound missions to more than 20 countries and 200 trade events each year. It has helped over 1,000 local enterprises secure more than 40 billion yuan (US$5.6 billion) in procurement contracts and cooperation agreements, according to center officials.

South Australia's target of 100% renewable energy by 2030 presents significant collaboration opportunities with Longhua in solar, battery storage and advanced manufacturing, said Ivan Kaukov, chair of the Australian Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 

Kaukov added that the chamber and state government would facilitate market research and business matching, particularly for companies unable to conduct site visits. He also cited the Australian prime minister's first post-re-election overseas visit to China as evidence of improving political conditions for deeper economic ties, identifying renewable infrastructure and high-tech manufacturing integration as priority areas.

Guo identified Shenzhen as a strategic priority, citing its position in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and its combined strengths in technology and the senior-care sector. He added that the company would use the LICC to engage with local care facilities, industry counterparts and supply-chain partners.
