International travelers arriving at Shenzhen North Railway Station can now obtain multilingual assistance, travel information and guidance on government services at a new one-stop service center in the station’s East Square.

The Shenzhen North Railway Station International Service Center was officially unveiled Aug. 13. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with its hours extended on public holidays when necessary.

The center provides information on transportation and local services, multilingual interpretation, guidance on policies and administrative procedures, and emergency assistance. Multilingual volunteers and real-time translation devices are available to help visitors overcome language barriers.

A currency exchange counter is located next to the center, allowing arriving passengers to access travel and financial services in the same area.

Visitors can also pick up bilingual materials about Longhua and view products developed by technology companies operating in the district.

The center was established by Minzhi Subdistrict in Longhua under the guidance of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, with support from several district government departments. Its opening comes as Shenzhen prepares to host the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting on Nov. 18 and 19.

As a major transport hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Shenzhen North Railway Station is an important gateway to Longhua and handles large numbers of international travelers. The center will operate year-round, extending its role beyond services related to the APEC meeting.

Its service team draws on government staff with foreign-language skills, international residents, university students, corporate employees and other volunteers. More than 20 multilingual government staff have been identified for the initiative, while international residents from more than 50 countries have been included in the volunteer pool.

Local companies also contributed equipment and other resources during the center’s development. The facility incorporates products including an AI-powered translation screen, glass fixtures and surveillance cameras.
