Participating companies will register Oct. 20, followed by an opening ceremony, pre-competition training and a group draw Oct. 21. The semifinals will take place Oct. 22, with the finals and awards ceremony scheduled for Oct. 23.

The semifinals will be held at the public service platform in Dalang Fashion Town, while the finals will take place at an MGallery hotel in Dalang, Longhua District.

Launched in 2012, the China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition has attracted nearly 400,000 technology companies and entrepreneurial teams over its 15 editions.

Organized by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center under China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the competition aims to encourage technological innovation and entrepreneurship.

This year's national competition covers five industries: high-end equipment manufacturing, next-generation information technology, new materials, new energy and related industries, and biomedicine.

By hosting the next-generation information technology contest, Longhua will provide a venue for innovative companies from across the country to present their technologies and demonstrate their entrepreneurial potential.
