Shenzhen has kicked off construction of 224 new projects citywide for the fourth quarter yesterday, with a total investment of 445.53 billion yuan (US$69.62 billion). Their investment amount for 2021 is expected to hit 22.3 billion yuan.

The projects are funded as follows: 134 government-invested projects amounting to 37.62 billion yuan, 67 private investment projects amounting to 132.07 billion yuan and six projects invested in the form of public-private partnership, which amounts to 242.07 billion yuan.

The projects consist of 44 road traffic projects, 29 industrial projects, 40 livelihood projects and 11 projects in other fields.

In terms of districts, Bao’an has the most projects with 40, followed by Guangming with 39 and Longgang with 37. Projects in Bao’an are expected to receive 23.09 billion yuan in total investment and 2.17 billion yuan in investment for this year. Major projects in Bao’an include Han CNC Industrial Park and Bao’an Hangcheng Innovation Industry R&D Joint Base.

In terms of total investment by districts, Longhua has the largest at 44.5 billion yuan, followed by Longgang at 33.19 billion yuan and Guangming at 32.27 billion yuan. There are 17 new projects in Longhua, with investment for this year reaching 4.01 billion yuan. Major projects in Longhua include Jiulong Mountain Industrial Park and Longhua District Baiheng Affordable Housing Project.

In the first three quarters of this year, Shenzhen organized and carried out two batches of centralized launching activities for its new projects. A total of 463 projects were started, with 591.8 billion yuan in total investment and 99.9 billion yuan in planned investment for this year.
