The contest’s eight tracks include MindSpore open-source framework engineering application, AI city transportation, AI robotics and AI calculation. The MindSpore framework track gathered the most teams in the contest with over 2,000 teams.

During the awards ceremony, Li Zhuowen, deputy secretary general of the Shenzhen government, introduced the competition and said, “The contest aims at solving engineering application challenges, mitigating talent shortages and improving ecological construction.”

Xu Zhibin, executive vice head of the Longhua District Government, expressed his confidence in yesterday’s event. “The competition is expected to further enhance Shenzhen’s AI capability in developing open-source frameworks and building robots, which will inject vitality into an in-depth combination between AI and the real economy,” Xu said.

A team from Shenzhen Urban Transport Planning Center won the contest’s second prize with its outstanding AI transportation track projects.

Xu Jianrong, a representative from the center, told Shenzhen Daily that they developed Shenzhen’s first 5G-based Cooperative Vehicle Infrastructure System testing road, which is located near Jiangang Mountain in Bao’an District.

“Through the contest, the system’s algorithm and solution were further validated, which will make significant economic and technological contributions,” Xu said.
