Primary, middle school and kindergarten students in Longhua District will be allowed to return to school in batches starting next week, according a notice issued at a video conference host by the district’s education bureau yesterday.
According to the notice, students in Grades 7-9 in Longhua District are scheduled to return to school April 11; primary school students will return April 13; and kindergarten students will return April 18.
Students in Grade 10 and 11 in the district will return to school this Friday following a city-level announcement issued by the municipal education bureau over the weekend.
Students from Longhua Experimental School wait in lines to enter the campus.
Except graduating students in senior high school, who have resumed classroom learning under close-off management since Feb. 21, school learning in Shenzhen has been halted for about two months due to the recent flare-up of COVID-19 in the city.
Schools, including kindergartens, should implement strict epidemic prevention and control measures to ensure that the students’ return to school is stable, orderly and safe. All faculty and staff as well as students should take a daily nucleic acid test in the first week after returning to school and one test every two days starting from the second week.
The schools are required to set up COVID-19 testing sites on campuses, ensure sufficient supplies of anti-pandemic materials and the proper functioning of relevant equipment, implement strict control on personnel and goods with access to the campuses and monitor the health conditions of students, faculty members and staffers regularly to avoid the flare-up of COVID-19 on campuses.
